Atypical Nonsense, is the personal family blog site of the Hesenflow family. This blog is written, designed and maintained by me, Chris Hesenflow, born March 24, 1967. Since I spend a good amount of time dedicated to keeping this blog current and looking pretty, below is a little more about me.
I’m a Christian, a husband, a father, a son, an uncle, a brother, a friend and a “dog” person. I’m a native Californian, but a Texan by choice.
I believe we all have a God given purpose on this earth, but I’m not shy in admitting that I’m still trying to figure mine out. I’m a work in progress and am continually working at perfect.
Favorite Things…
My family, my dogs, music, politics, religion, the internet, thunderstorms, and lifting weights. I love a good heated discussion between conservatives & liberals, who’s right, who’s wrong and I always root for the underdog. I’m hopelessly addicted to talk radio, The Drudge Report, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bible prophecy, Starbucks coffee, blogging, Wordpress, web design, DVD concert videos and Rudy’s BBQ. Some of my most favorite things include my iPod Nano, my computer, iTunes, Napster, 5.1 Surround Sound, my Chrysler 300C Heritage Edition (”You got a Hemi in that thing?”), rock concerts, The Weather Channel, air conditioning, Lifetime Fitness, the television remote and my Sleep Number Bed (#45).
Movies I Love…
I love gangster flicks, action flicks, science fiction flicks, old flicks, new flicks, funny flicks, McCarthy Era “Red-Scare” flicks, monster flicks, heartwarming flicks, multi-flick flicks and one-man army flicks. Some of my very favorites are Goodfellas, Scarface, Casino, The Rockys, The Die Hards, The Terminators, The Aliens, The Natural, The Dirty Harrys, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, It Came From Outer Space, Night of the Living Dead, The Birds, Family Man, The Aviator, It’s a Wonderful Life, Underworld, Seven, War of the Gargantuas, Pride of the Yankees, Apocalypse Now, The Usual Suspects and Sargent York.
What I Listen To…
I’m a huge fan of classic rock, hard rock, heavy metal with a soft spot for an 80’s hair band power-ballad. My most favorites include Rush (okay, I’m a Rush fanatic), Kiss, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Journey, Queen, Cream, Clapton and even some newer bands like Hinder, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Porcupine Tree and the Killers. As my age advances (and my senses dull), I’ve developed an affinity for country music as well, including Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts and Toby Keith and my musical guilty pleasure is The Bee Gees (love those guys).
A Few Things I’m Not So Fond Of…
Loud talkers, “personal space” invaders, crowded shopping malls, brussel sprouts, bad hair days, Monday, Congress (its members not the process), Internet Explorer, liberal media bias, MySpace, global warming junk science, hairy-backed guys who insist on wearing tank tops and gold necklaces, smoky restaurants, cell phone drivers, limp handshakes, “one-uppers”, small talk, Rosie O’Donnell and the Dixie Chicks.
